I can’t believe I’ve opened my own business and I’m writing my first blog post! It’s exciting and overwhelming and wonderful. As a mom of three, a wife, and a full-time Reading Specialist, my life is already full and busy. But I’ve known in my heart that I love working with students individually and helping them acquire the skills they need to meet their potential.

So, I decided to take my career to the next level. Academic Advantage is the perfect name for my company. I want my clients to have every advantage when it comes to their education.

Whether they struggle in Reading with phonics, fluency, comprehension, or in a combination of areas, it’s my goal to support their continued academic progress.

Whether they’re facing challenges with Math facts, computation, word problems, or applying foundational skills, it is my goal to help them close the gaps and gain the skills they need to build a solid foundation.

But more than that, I want to show them that learning is important and rewarding. My motto has always been, “We can do hard things.” Growing this business will be hard. There will be challenges and so much to learn, but there is one thing that is not hard at all. I love working with children and helping them to succeed.
